It certainly explains why he was so unfamiliar with the criminal laws and the rights of defendants. As I have mentioned before, I seem to be a character trapped in a bad novel written by John Gisham and Gore Vidal, perhaps with overtones of Steven King, but I never realize things could get *this* weird. http://www.arc4adr.com/panelists/wallerstein.html Hon. Robert H. Wallerstein, Ret. Judge Wallerstein served on the Los Angeles Municipal Court from 1983 to 1996, devoting the majority of his case assignments to resolutions of disputes. During that time he settled, resolved and tried cases up to $21 million for the Municipal and Superior Courts. Judge Wallerstein’s judicial appointments include serving as Supervising Judge in Van Nuys and by assignment to the Court of Appeals. Prior to coming on the bench, he spent 21 years in private practice, specializing in banking, finance, construction and entertainment matters. Since 1996, he has served as a judge by assignment, arbitrator and mediator on more than 1,000 cases. SPECIALIZES IN: General civil, personal injury, construction, banking, finance, entertainment. http://www.ivams.com/bios/robert_wallerstein.htm After 22 years of civil practice, specializing in building, finance and corporate law, Robert H. Wallerstein was appointed to the Bench in Los Angeles in 1982 and retired in 1996. His civil judicial experience extended to Law and Motion, Mandatory and Voluntary Settlement Conferences, and included conducting in excess of 500 pre-trial motions, civil jury and non-jury trials ranging in awards up to $21 million. Since his retirement as a Neutral, Judge Wallerstein has conducted arbitrations, settlement conferences and multi-party hearings. ************* I know there are not going to be much in the way of tracks because one of the advantages of using a private judge is that it leaves no lingering public record. Other than these two, all the normal search engines pull up with Judge Wallerstein's name are about the case against me. Still, in the entertainment business, there must have been some stories about the cases he judged in Hollywood newspaper or specialized data bases. Please take a look. Thanks, Keith Henson
