News to my "bcc" list: This is from someone on the list who has been following the Paris Hilton story. If *she* has her sentence commuted due to overcrowding, why not Keith? ----------------------------------- "If she gets out due to overcrowding, we need to really mobilize. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070511/ap_en_ot/paris_hilton " ---------------------------------- Also, I just got off the phone with Keith. He asked me to tell y'all and everybody to whom you've been forwarding these missives that he really appreciates everything you're doing. I won't be able to see him till Wednesday. Due to his "special housing," visiting hours for us are just the one day a week, and of course I can be bumped. I think next Wednesday I'll get there 15 or 20 minutes early. Which reminds me I need to get part of that morning off. Keith's only suggestion of what to do was to see if any of the reporters who have done stories on overcrowding would be interested in doing a story about how--despite the overcrowding and consequent release of felons--the governator has apparently signed an extradition warrant to bring back a 64-year-old man whose meds the citizens of California will have to pay for. Worse yet, it's apparently based on a 7-year-old alleged misdemeanor that actually consisted of an act of free speech in an attempt to get public attention to the deaths of young people associated with $cientology's mile-long, razor-wire compound at Gilman Springs, California. It is now illegal to picket there due to an illegally obtained injunction that the $cientologists use to claim that everyone who pickets there is in a conspiracy with the person against whom the injunction was claimed. Anyway, the overcrowding theme ties in with the Paris Hilton story, which is where we came in. Thank you all so much for your support and concern. Arel
